Released keeper weighs up options

Former Derby goalkeeper Ben Hinchliffe is attracting the interest of several clubs after leaving Pride Park. The highly-rated goalkeeper was released by Derby earlier this month as Rams boss Paul Jewell looks to reshape his squad. Derby beat a number of clubs to Hinchliffe's signature from Preston last summer, but the young keeper never made an appearance for the club as they suffered relegation from the Premier League. News of Hinchliffe's release has alerted several clubs who are ready to make a move for the custodian this summer. Crewe are tracking Hinchliffe as they are in the market for a new goalkeeper after Ben Williams and Owain fon Williams turned down new deals at Gresty Road. Darlington are also interested in Hinchliffe with David Stockdale set to leave the club for Fulham this pre-season. League One-bound Stockport are also weighing up a move for Hinchliffe as they look to bolster their goalkeeping options.
