Midfielder looking towards first-team comeback

Milton Keynes Dons have handed midfielder Paul Mitchell a contract until next January. Mitchell has not played a first-team game for Paul Ince's side since suffering a broken leg against Notts County in February 2007. The complicated nature of the injury forced the 26-year-old to miss all of last season's promotion-winning campaign and Johnstone's Paint Trophy triumph. However, he did play for the reserves towards the end of the season and has been given a chance to prove his fitness in the first half of next term. Since originally joining MK Dons on loan from Wigan Athletic in December 2004, Mitchell has made 80 appearances for the club.
