Former Fulham ace returns home

Former Fulham striker Brian McBride has completed his move to Major League Soccer side Chicago Fire. McBride quit Fulham at the end of last season after helping the club stave off the threat of relegation. The 36-year-old was keen to return to his native America and he has now returned to his hometown club. McBride's registration in the MLS was held by Toronto FC but a trade was agreed with Chicago and the former Everton man is looking forward to plying his trade for the club.

Excited

"I am excited to be joining the Chicago Fire for many reasons," said McBride. "One of the most important of those is Chicago is my home town. "I have a great desire to win championships and hope to do so with the Fire. "I am definitely looking forward to my future with the Fire."
