Madjid Bougherra admits fellow Algeria international Brahim Hemdani persuaded him to join Rangers. The defender has signed a four-year deal at Ibrox after opting for a £2.5million move to the Gers ahead of West Bromwich Albion. Bougherra is happy to have linked up with the Old Firm giants and concedes Hemdani influenced his decision. "I spoke to Brahim about coming here and he spoke very well about the club, the facilities and the fans," Bougherra told the club's official website. "He pushed me to come here, so I am very pleased I have signed for Rangers. They are a very big club and I want to get into the team quickly."

Dream

The 25-year-old moves to the SPL after 18 months with Charlton Athletic and is looking to continue his progress, with the prospect of UEFA Champions League football on offer this season. He added: "I came to football very late, but I want to progress here and keep getting better. "It is my dream to do good things for Rangers. "I am a defender, but can also play in midfield too and will be happy to play wherever I am picked. "First of all, I want to come and play games, but I know there are good defenders here, so it will be hard. Hopefully I can move forward and learn from them."
