Defender heads back to Belgium
Gillingham manager Mark Stimson has failed in his bid to sign trialist defender Bobsam Elejiko.
The 26-year-old Nigerian had impressed Stimson in pre-season but has now returned to Royal Antwerp after failing to agree a short-term contract.
However, Stimson is still hoping to add to his squad before the season kicks off at Bournemouth, with winger Tyrone Berry and an unnamed striker on his radar.
"Tyrone did well when he came on against Thurrock, he's got a change of pace, gets in behind defences and that's something you need on the bench," Stimson told the club's
official website.
On the mystery target, he added: "Sometimes deals take time and with this striker, the transfer window doesn't shut until the end of the month so if we have to, we'll wait."
