Striker offered short-term deal by League Two outfit

Gillingham have completed the signing of Tyrone Berry ahead of the 2007/08 season openers. The Gills travel to Bournemouth on Saturday and will be delighted to have bolstered their squad ahead of the journey to the South Coast. Berry had been on trial at Priestfield Stadium over the summer and has agreed an initial one-month contract with the League Two club. He made an impressive start to his Gillingham career, scoring in a 4-1 pre-season friendly victory over Aveley, while he also appeared off the bench in a 2-0 success at Thurrock. The 21-year-old began his career at Crystal Palace but failed to make the grade at Selhurst Park. Spells at Rushden & Diamonds, Crawley and Stevenage followed, with his only previous taste of league action coming during a loan spell at Notts County in 2005.
