Shot-stopper out for six months with shoulder injury

Watford have announced that goalkeeper Mart Poom has been ruled out of action for up to six months. Poom, who has started all of his side's seven Championship games this season, dislocated his shoulder in the controversial 2-2 draw with Reading last weekend. The 36-year-old Estonian signed for Watford in 2007 after spending two years with Premier League side Arsenal. Hornets boss Adrian Boothroyd is now likely to call upon either Scott Loach or Richard Lee for the game versus Sheffield United on Saturday. Of Poom's setback, Boothroyd told the club's official website: "Mart's injury is serious unfortunately, it's a six month job I think. "He's had to have his shoulder pinned and obviously for a goalkeeper, and a 36-year-old at that, it's not good at all. "He's fought back before from injury, and it's very, very disappointing because he's come into the team and done very well for us. "But we wish him well and we'll be working hard to get him back somewhere near where he was."
