Striker pens short-term deal at the New Den

Gifton Noel-Williams has received international clearance and is free to join League One outfit Millwall. The much-travelled front-man was released by Spanish second division side Elche at the end of last season and is available as a free agent. He has penned a short-term deal with the Lions and will go straight into their squad for Saturday's visit of MK Dons. With Kenny Jackett currently without loan duo Tresor Kandol and Jermaine Easter, who are both suspended, the manager faced something of a striker shortage. Lewis Grabban has been a revelation since switching to the right wing and Jackett is loath to pitch him back up front, while neither Ashley Grimes nor Adrian Forbes are out-and-out front men.

Hungry

As a result, the Lions boss has called upon a player he previously worked with during his time as a coach at the Watford youth academy. "Gifton is a very talented player who at 28 still has plenty to offer," Jackett told the club's official website. "He's been abroad in recent years, but now wants to get back into English football and I'm hopeful this is the right club at the right time for him. "He's very hungry and has enough ability, determination and personality to do very well here."
