Emanuel Villa admits he may have to consider his future at Derby if he does not play more often.

Striker eager to be playing more first-team football

Emanuel Villa admits he may have to consider his future at Derby County if he does not force his way into Nigel Clough's plans. The Argentinian striker has yet to start a Championship game since Clough replaced Paul Jewell as Pride Park boss at the turn of the year. Villa has made the occasional substitute appearance, but is growing restless about his lack of opportunities in the starting line-up. And the 27-year-old has conceded that, if the situation does not improve, he will have to leave the club at the end of the season.

Difficult

"I don't know what will happen next season," Villa told the Derby Evening Telegraph. "Of course, I want to play. I haven't started for a long time, but I will wait for my chance. "Everyone wants to play. I want to play, too. But if I can't play in this team, obviously I have to follow my career somewhere else, probably in another country - but I don't know where. "There are a lot of strikers here and they are all very good, so it is difficult but I am trying to get my chance. "It's difficult to talk now about what I am going to do next season, but I want to be playing."
