Holloway offers contract hope to ex-Chelsea midfielder

Former Chelsea midfielder Enrique De Lucas has been offered the chance to secure a return to English football by Blackpool boss Ian Holloway. De Lucas, who made 25 Premier League appearances for Chelsea in the 2002/03 season, is currently training with Blackpool as he searches for a new club. The 30-year-old played the first half of the Seasiders' 4-2 pre-season win over Oldham Athletic on Saturday and had an eventful game at Boundary Park. He created a goal for Blackpool striker Ben Burgess and was then fortunate to escape a red card after a tangle with Chris Taylor before being substituted at half-time. Holloway is expected to give the Spaniard a further chance to press his claims for a contract in Tuesday evening's pre-season friendly against Everton. Will Haining also featured in the friendly against his former club Oldham, while Ishmel Demontagnac was handed another chance to impress Holloway.
