Striker fails to earn permanent deal

Michael Bridges has parted company with the MK Dons at the end of his short stay with the League One club. The former Leeds and Sunderland striker joined the Dons on non-contract terms three weeks ago in an effort to help ease Paul Ince's injury crisis. He featured in the matchday squad for each of the Dons' five fixtures in all competitions this season, making two appearances. However, he has failed to convince Ince and his coaching staff that he is deserving of a full-time contract at stadium:mk. "Michael Bridges' attitude and the way he has conducted himself over the last three weeks has been tremendous," said the Dons' assistant manager Karl Robinson. "We had a good look at him, he was more than happy to stay, but we decided that we are extremely strong in that area with the likes of Aaron Wilbraham and Sam Baldock coming back from injury. "He volunteered his services for three weeks and you very rarely get people in this industry who are willing to do that. "We'd like to thank him for everything he's done for us and we wish him well."
