Pavel Nedved has confirmed he is retiring from professional football despite receiving offers to prolong his career. The 37-year-old veteran retired from the game at the end of last season after his contract with Juventus, for whom he spent eight years with, expired. Nedved first came to prominence with Czech giants Sparta Prague before moving to Lazio in 1996, spending five years at the Roman club before his transfer to Juventus. The winger is held in high regard at Juventus after opting to stay with the Bianconeri following their relegation from Serie A following their match fixing scandal, and was offered a coaching role by current boss Ciro Ferarra. However, the veteran has declined the offer plus others in order to spend more time with his family as he basks in retirement. "I have decided not accept any of the offers I got recently and I end my career as a player for good," Nedved said on his official website. "I want to devote my entire time to the family, my wife and the children."
