Svensson wants Larsson as Lagerback successor
The Swedish Football Association has dismissed suggestions that Sven Goran Eriksson is being lined up as the next manager of the national team.
Former England boss Eriksson, who is currently director of football at Notts County, has been linked with the hot-seat of his homeland in the past.
That speculation has increased after current coach Lars Lagerback announced that he is to quit after the qualification campaign for the 2010 World Cup.
Sweden look unlikely to reach South Africa and focus among fans has therefore turned to the future, and Eriksson is viewed as the man to succeed Lagerback.
But the Swedish FA is focused on the present, with a spokesman saying: "The national team's qualification campaign still has a match remaining and a shortlist has not yet been drawn up."
However, Sweden midfielder Anders Svensson believes international team-mate Henrik Larsson would prove an ideal manager.
The former Southampton player told Swedish media: "Henrik is the most interesting name for me. I vote for him."
