Argentine striker willing to fight for starting berth

Julio Cruz's agent insists his client has no desire to secure a move away from Lazio during the winter transfer window. The experienced striker only moved to Stadio Olimpico last summer, bringing to an end a six-year stint at Inter Milan. He penned a two-year contract upon his arrival in the capital and was touted as a key player in Lazio's bid to become a Serie A force once more. The 35-year-old Argentine has, however, struggled to hold down a regular starting role this season. That has led to speculation that he could be on the move once more in January, with Catania believed to be leading the race for his signature. Cruz's agent has dismissed these rumours, though, and insists the South American frontman is happy to fight for a place at Lazio. "Cruz to Catania? Let's not joke around," Jorge Cyterszpiler told Tuttomercatoweb.com. "Julio will not leave Rome or go anywhere else. He will stay at Lazio 100 per cent."
