Winger returns to homeland to play in K-League
South Korea international Seol Ki-Hyeon has signed for the Pohang Steelers following his departure from Fulham.
The 31-year-old winger has opted to return to his homeland and play in the K-League for the first time in his career after rejecting a move to Hong Kong-based outfit South China.
Seol left South Korea in 2000 after graduating from college and had spells with Belgian sides Royal Antwerp and Anderlecht before moving to England to play for Wolves, Reading and Fulham.
"I am returning home after 10 years," he told Pohang's
official website.
"I hope to show the fans at Pohang what I have learned in Europe and I hope that I can help the K-League develop too.
"After watching Pohang play in the Asian Champions League and the Club World Cup, I felt that they are an attractive team."
Seol only made five appearances for the Cottagers this season and he hopes his move will ensure his place in the summer's World Cup in South Africa.
