Forgotten full-back moves to Spanish strugglers

Valencia left-back Asier Del Horno has joined Real Valladolid on loan for the rest of the season. The former Chelsea defender has failed to cut the grade at the Mestalla and has moved to Primera Division strugglers Valladolid in a bid to get regular football. Del Horno was once tipped as one of the best left-backs in Spain and moved to Stamford Bridge in the 2005/2006 campaign for £8million from Athletic Bilbao. But the 29-year-old's time in England lasted just one season and a forgettable spell in the Premier League was brought to an end when Valencia brought him back to his native land. The once Spanish international, who becomes Valladolid's second signing of the January transfer window after Keko, has made just a handful of appearances in his four years at Los Che and was also farmed out to his old club Bilbao back in 2007.
