Argentine striker not happy with warming the bench
Bordeaux president Jean-Louis Triaud admits Fernando Cavenaghi could soon be on the move.
The Argentine striker is growing increasingly disillusioned with life at Stade Chaban Delmas after struggling to hold down first-team football.
A lack of action has led to reports suggesting he could be on the move before the transfer window comes to a close.
Premier League outfit Sunderland are said to be keen on the 26-year-old, who has spent the last three years in France.
Cavenaghi enjoyed a productive start to his career with Bordeaux, scoring almost 40 goals in his first two seasons with the club.
Concerned
However, things have unravelled somewhat since then and Triaud admits it may be time for a change of scenery.
"His agent has told me that he is concerned by his lack of games," the Bordeaux supremo told
L'Equipe.
"He is right to feel like that, but we can't guarantee games to anyone.
"We are in talks about a new deal and we are trying to reach an agreement. But anything could happen, he might stay or he might leave.
"If he can find something somewhere else that satisfies him, he could leave.
"But for now he is at Bordeaux and he is not going anywhere yet."
Terms
Meanwhile, Triaud has revealed that contract talks with Wendel have hit a stumbling block.
The Ligue 1 outfit have put improved terms to the Brazilian midfielder, but he is still not happy with the offer on the table.
"I don't think that our offer of two more years appealed to him that much," said Triaud.
"However, the deal sticks to the salary rules of the club in the current economic climate."
