Fiorentina winger N'Diaye Papa Waigo could be set for a possible move back to Southampton.

Agent hints at switch back to League One outfit

Fiorentina winger N'Diaye Papa Waigo could be set for a possible move back to Southampton, according to his agent. The Senegal international returned to the Viola this summer following an impressive loan spell with Saints where he netted five times, including a goal in the Johnstone's Paint Trophy final triumph over Carlisle. Papa Waigo has struggled for first-team action at the Stadio Artemio Franchi this season with head coach Sinisa Mihajlovic spoilt for choice with his attacking options. This has led to speculation that Premier League clubs Birmingham and Newcastle may consider a move for the 26-year-old, who could be available for a bargain fee. However, agent Nocila Costantino admits the player may even return to the south coast club if any permanent deals fail to materialise.

Interest

He told fiorentinanews.com: "There is no concrete interest as yet, but I can say there are clubs from Turkey, Greece, Spain and England who are looking at the player. "We and (Fiorentina's sporting director, Pantaleo) Corvino are evaluating the best solution for the player and for the club. "I won't rule out that Fiorentina will use him as a bargaining chip in order to conclude any negotiations. "Papa Waigo could even return to Southampton on loan until June and then they could redeem him at the end of the season."
