Ben Khalifa joins on loan until; no Juve approach for Barzagli

Nurnberg have confirmed the arrival of Switzerland Under 21 striker Nassim Ben Khalifa on a loan from Bundesliga rivals Wolfsburg. The 19-year-old will remain a Nurnberg player until the end of the season and a to-buy option has reportedly been included in the deal. Nurnberg general manager Martin Bader is pleased to have completed the signing, while Ben Khalifa, who is under contract with Steve McClaren's Wolfsburg until June 2014, is looking forward to the opportunity. Bader told his club's official website: "Nassim Ben Khalifa is a young player who is willing to enjoy making progress at our club.

Transfer enquiry

"We are delighted to have captured him." Ben Khalifa said: "I am happy to be here. I am looking forward to making a step forward in my development as a squad player." Meanwhile, Wolfsburg managing director Dieter Hoeness has denied Italy international defender Andrea Barzagli is on his way to Juventus. Hoeness told Deutsche Presseagentur: "Andrea Barzagli is a player of our club. He has been regularly getting games for us this season. "Wolfsburg have not received any transfer enquiry in his case and we have also not received an offer from Juventus for his services." One player who has left Wolfsburg is midfielder Peter Perchtold, who has joined Australian A-League club Gold Coast United on a contract until 2013. A short Wolfsburg statement read: "We have released Peter Perchtold from his contract to allow him to join Gold Coast United. We wish Peter all the best for the future."
