Magpies stopper looks to rewrite script at Eastlands
Defender Graeme Lee is determined to cause an upset with Notts County when they visit Manchester City in the FA Cup on Sunday.
The Magpies almost saw off the big-spending Premier League club in the original tie at Meadow Lane, but Edin Dzeko notched a late equaliser to spare City's blushes and set up a fourth-round replay.
The League One side enter the Eastlands clash as the obvious underdogs, but Lee insists anything can happen.
He told
skysports.com: "It was a great performance from the lads in the first game and at one point we all thought that we might just do it, but the class that they had on show was always going to pose a threat from the first minute to the last.
"They obviously got their goal in the end, but we are happy and we would have snapped your hand off if that result had been offered to us before the game.
"We need to take belief from the game up at Sunderland and also the original tie against Manchester City at our place into the replay.
"We know that it will be difficult because the pitch will be a lot smoother and they can zip the ball around a lot more, but we have just got to go there with confidence and if we can perform then you never know.
"I've given it a good go in the competition so far and things happen in the F.A Cup that doesn't always follow the script."
