American forward heads home in an effort to reignite his career
Sochaux striker Charlie Davies has joined DC United on loan with a view to a permanent deal.
The United States international returns to his homeland on an agreement which will initially run until December.
The 24-year-old has been snapped up by DC United after impressing during a recent trial spell.
He has been with the Washington-based club since 2nd February and will now link up with the squad on a full-time basis once he passes a medical.
Davies joined Sochaux in July 2009 but made only eight appearances for the club.
Accident
His lack of action is due to a car accident he was involved in back in October 2009, which claimed the life of a female passenger.
Davies did return to Sochaux after rebuilding his fitness, turning out for their reserves on a handful of occasions.
He was included in their matchday squad for a 1-1 draw with Bordeaux on 19th December, but failed to make it onto the field.
The promising forward is now hoping that a return to his roots will allow him to get his career back on track following a difficult time off the field.
