Real Betis have confirmed they have rejected an offer for Cameroon star Achille Emana.

Real Betis have confirmed they have rejected an offer for Cameroon star Achille Emana. The midfield ace played a major role in helping Betis back into La Liga, but the Seville outfit look to have a battle on their hands to keep the talented 29-year-old. The attacking midfielder was understood to have been approached by Newcastle earlier in the summer but the interest in him has grown. Tottenham, Everton and Wigan have also been credited with an interest whilst Marseille, French champions Lille and Galatasaray are also said to be in the hunt.

Offer

Now Betis have confirmed that they have fielded an offer for their charge but they refused to reveal the bidding party. Betis' director of sport Vlada Stosic confirmed the bid did not meet their valuation. "We had an offer for Emana, but we rejected it," said Stosic. "We said no because we think Achille has a higher value in the market." Spanish media report that Betis are willing to do business at €5million.
