Portuguese keeper opts for move to Wales
Swansea have confirmed they have reached an agreement to sign Benfica goalkeeper Jose Moreira for an undisclosed fee.
Skysports.com reported earlier that
Moreira was in Wales to hold talks with the Swans.
And the Premier League new boys have announced the 29-year-old will be moving to the Liberty Stadium, subject to a medical.
Manager Brendan Rodgers had been searching for a new keeper since Dorus de Vries chose to join Wolves on a free transfer last month.
The Swans had been linked with a move for Poland international Grzegorz Sandomierski but have instead moved for Moreira, who has a solitary Portugal cap to his name.
Dream
"It's my dream to play in the Premier League and I am delighted to get my chance with Swansea City," he told the club's
official website.
"I have been at Benfica for 12 years and, while it will be hard to leave, I need a new challenge in my career.
"I'd like to thank the Benfica supporters, who have been fantastic to me over the years, but I think they will understand my decision."
