Rangers have taken German winger David Odonkor on trial following the expiration of his Real Betis deal.
The 27-year-old is a free agent and manager Ally McCoist will spend the coming days assessing his ability and fitness.
Odonkor came to prominence at Borussia Dortmund and his blistering form led to a €6m (£5.25m) Betis switch in 2006.
He broke into the Germany national team in 2006 and he made four substitute appearances in the World Cup finals, a tournament the country hosted.
However, a series of knee injuries hampered his availability to feature for Betis in recent campaigns, culminating in his release during the close season.
Odonkor could become Gers' fourth signing of the summer behind Juan Manuel Ortiz, Lee Wallace and Dorin Goian, while Alejandro Bedoya is joining in January.
