Italy international could be set to link up with old team-mate

Sebastien Frey has urged his former team-mate Alberto Gilardino to join him at Genoa. The French goalkeeper signed for Genoa this summer and reports suggest they are lining up another raid on Fiorentina for their striker. Gilardino has scored over 200 goals in his career and would be a welcome addition to the Genoa attack. "Alberto is a friend, I love him and in this case I would say that Genoa is the right club for him," Frey told Secolo XIX. "If he chooses Genoa, he would not be making a mistake." Frey also confirmed he the contract he has signed with Genoa will be the last of his career. He added: "Genoa will be my last club. I am happy with the choice I made coming here; I'm just sorry with the way I left Fiorentina."
