Saints defender hoping to sign off on the back of productive cup run

Radhi Jaidi is planning to hang up his boots at the end of the season and admits he is hoping to bow out on a high. The Southampton defender is set to bring the curtain down on his playing career and turn his hand to management. He is all set to take his coaching badges and is already preparing for life in the dugout. The 36-year-old is not finished yet, though, and plans to make the most of the time he has left. He is expected to make a rare start in the Saints' Carling Cup clash with Preston on Wednesday and is looking forward to getting back out on the field.

Special

Jaidi believes Southampton, who have made a flying start to the Championship season, can make inroads in the cup this year and hopes he can sign off 'in style'. "I want to play one last season and I want it to be special," he said. "I want to go out in style so a good cup run would be perfect for me. "I will be doing my coaching badges soon and I want to get qualified in England."
