Ipswich hoping monitoring Scandinavian duo

Ipswich Town boss Paul Jewell has confirmed he is assessing Scandinavian duo Teddy Bjarnason and Isak Nylen. Icelandic international Bjarnason and Swedish youth star Nylen have both spent the last week training with Town. Jewell admits he is considering a move for 24-year-old Bjarnason, who is currently with IFK Gothenburg, but is available on in January. "He's at IFK Gothenburg at the moment, we're monitoring that situation and I spoke to his agent [on Wednesday]. His contract's up next year, so we're going to see what the deal is," he said. "There's a possibility [that a deal could be done]. They're looking at a figure and I've told them we won't pay that, so we'll just monitor that situation. "Their season has finished, it's just about to start again, in February I think, that's where we are and we can't sign him until January anyway." Skysports.com revealed that Brommapojkarna striker Nylen - desribed as Sweden's answer to Peter Crouch, was with Ipswich. "He looks like Peter Crouch!" said Jewell. "He's a 16-year-old, he was training with the kids and I took him [to join us] and he really is like Peter Crouch. He's not as good, so don't get excited about him! "We're just having a look at him. He played for the Under-17s against Leicester earlier in the week and I think he scored a goal. When someone's so big and so different he's worth a look."
