Millwall manager Kenny Jackett will not pursue an interest in Michael Stewart and is keeping an open mind about re-signing Tottenham Hotspur winger Andros Townsend on loan.
Skysports.com revealed last week that Stewart was training with Millwall after leaving London rivals Charlton Athletic in the summer.
However, the Scotland midfielder picked up a calf injury in a trial game against MK Dons and Jackett's interest in Stewart is now on hold.
"He got injured in that game, I think it is a calf injury and he had to come off in the first half," Jackett told the
News Shopper.
"It's not something we are going to pursue at the moment.
"We may keep an eye on him in the future but it's not something we will pursue right now."
Jostling
Jackett is keen to strengthen in January and is not ruling out a bid for Townsend, who impressed on loan at The Den last season and signed a new contract at Tottenham on Thursday.
The Lions boss added: "I don't know what the situation is.
"We have been making a lot of enquiries and at the moment I don't know anything in terms of Spurs' options.
"I'm sure there are lots of clubs, and we are one of them, jostling for position on players.
"We are looking to strengthen in January, definitely. We will have to see which positions, but we do think we need to improve."
