Dutch striker enjoying life in Enschede

Steve McClaren has been impressed by new signing Glynor Plet following his arrival at FC Twente from Heracles Almelo last month. The Dutchman joined Twente late in the transfer window and is yet to make his debut for the Eredivisie title-chasers. However, English boss McClaren has liked what he has seen from the towering striker so far. He told Voetbal Centraal: "Plet has impressed me. He is physically strong, holds the ball and has a good technique for someone of his stature." Plet admits training alongside Twente defensive stars Douglas and Peter Wisgerhof is tough but is enjoying life in Enschede. "I'm still getting used to how wonderful it all is here," said the 25-year-old. "It is hard training with Douglas or Wisgerhof at your back, but I can only benefit. "I've always had to fight to get anywhere and I've become very mentally strong." Plet could make his Twente debut against former club Heracles when they visit De Grolsch Veste on Friday evening.
