City could confirm five deals

Roberto Mancini has confirmed he is hoping Manchester City will announce five deals on Friday's transfer deadline day. Deals for Scott Sinclair and Richard Wright are already in place, but they are also hoping to conclude moves for Maicon from Inter Milan, Matija Nastasic of Fiorentina and Benfica's Javi Garcia. And the Italian admitted the club were working hard on getting all their targets in before Friday's 11pm deadline. Mancini said: "We are working, we are waiting. I think we have a good chance to close but we need to wait. "We have another 10, 12 hours to close on these players. We need more time. I am confident. "I think if we close these players, I think we improve our team. "They come to play in a different championship, they need time. We are talking about one top player in Maicon, because he has experience and Nastasic will be one of the top players for a long time." Mancini has made room in his squad by selling Nigel de Jong to AC Milan. "I am sorry because Nigel was an important player for us but if he is happy, I am happy for him," he said. "I am sure he will do really well in the Italian championship."
