The scout reports...

Fabrice Olinga has already written himself into the record books, we now check on the Malaga starlet. Not yet 17, Olinga has already been transferred within Spain whilst also re-writing the record books. He made the headlines earlier this season when he came off the bench for Malaga to score the winner in their victory at Celta Vigo - aged just 16 years and 98 days, he was the youngest scorer in Spanish history, beating the previous record holder Iker Muniain. But where did Olinga come from? How did he end up at Malaga at such a tender age? He came from Cameroon - but not from a club, he was spotted by the Samuel Eto'o Private Foundation - a non-profit organisation set up by the former Barcelona striker that encourages education and the protection of children in Africa. This organization scouts young talent from all over the continent, but predominantly Cameroon and then the lucky few get sent to Europe for games with either Mallorca or Barcelona - Two of Eto'o's former clubs. Olinga travelled to Europe for the first time aged 12, and starred in the Costa Blanca Cup in Benidorm, and from there he was snapped up by Mallorca. He progressed well with Mallorca, but was spotted by Malaga's academy director Manuel Casanova - who pushed strongly to sign him and grabbed his signature last summer. Olinga quickly became the star of Malaga's academy and helped them to their youth cup final - which they lost, but he was unable to play due to suspension. Olinga's performances for the youth side had not gone unnoticed and after being heavily involved in pre-season, he was included in the first-team squad by Manuel Pellegrini for their opening game of the campaign against Celta. He came on after an hour, and the rest is history. Now a regular in the squad - Olinga looks to have the world at his feet. All natural talent, Olinga is quick - but balanced, similar to Eto'o, the man who unsurprisingly he is being likened to at every turn. Olinga is two-footed, good in the air, but most importantly for any striker has an acute eye for goal. He will try one from 25 yards, but as his debut goal showed he is more than willing to scramble home form inside the six-yard box. With Pellegrini in charge, he looks the ideal man to bring on Olinga, who is undoubtedly a precocious talent.

The scout says...

Looks at home in Malaga and will benefit from Pellegrini's tutelage, but if he continues his progress - it will remain to be seen if they can keep him. Will be hugely interesting to see how he matures and how much football he gets over coming season.
