Russell Slade has revealed the make-up of his backroom staff at Cardiff City.

Slade, who took over at the City of Cardiff Stadium earlier this month, will have former caretaker boss Scott Young alongside him as well as goalkeeping coach Martyn Margetson and senior coaches James Rowberry and Kevin Nicholson.

Danny Gabbidon, who was caretaker boss with Young after the departure of Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, retains his role as player-coach. Margetson rejoins City after spending the last three seasons with West Ham United.

Slade told Cardiff's official website: “I’m delighted with the four appointments.

"Scott, Martyn, James and Kevin are key additions to my backroom team, bringing experience, talent, enthusiasm and passion to our football club.

"Scott is a Cardiff man, he is entwined with this football club and wants to see us flourish and succeed. He has been extremely supportive to me since I’ve come in and appears to be relishing in his new role at Cardiff City. He will be an integral part of what we do as we move forward.

"Marge’s (Martyn Margetson) appointment is also ideal. Sometimes things fit and with his roots being firmly with us here at Cardiff, we couldn’t have hoped for a better person to come in. He brings experience and will offer a huge amount as part of the management team.

"James and Kevin are fantastic additions as first-team coaches. Again, they are passionate about what they do and bring an enthusiasm to work every single day.

"As with Scott and Marge, they have a lot to offer and their work with the Group is already bearing fruit. Both are extremely talented coaches and we’re fortunate to have them here with us. It’s a sentiment felt by the staff and players."

Slade also confirmed James McCarthy and Darran Lovell would return to their roles with the Academy and Development setup after recently assisting him with first-team duties.
