The nominees for the Sky Bet League One Player of the Month and the Manager of the Month for December have been revealed.
Walsall striker Tom Bradshaw, Crewe goalkeeper Ben Garratt, Bradford City centre-back Rory McArdle and Swindon forward Andy Williams are in the running for the player award.
Bradshaw scored five of Walsall’s eight goals last month after returning from injury and Williams was also on target five times for Swindon as they continued their promotion push.
Crewe academy graduate Garratt was in fantastic form for the strugglers, helping them to wins over Bristol City and Oldham, and McArdle was a key member of a Bradford defence that conceded only one league goal in December.
Swindon and Bradford’s managers are also in the running for their prize along with MK Dons boss Karl Robinson and Scunthorpe’s Mark Robins.
Mark Cooper led table-topping Swindon to nine points in the month, with three goal winning margins over Notts County and Walsall the highlights.
Bradford went one point better with 10 in December under boss Phil Parkinson – the Bantams were unbeaten in four games, conceded only one goal and moved into the play-off places.
Robins continued Scunthorpe’s resurgence with seven points from three matches and Robinson’s MK Dons improved their promotion hopes in a 10-point month that included a club record 7-0 win over Oldham.
