Kenny Jackett insists Tomasz Kuszczak is safe from the axe and will keep his place when Wolves host Sheffield Wednesday.

The goalkeeper's gaffe gifted Brighton's Bruno Saltor the opener in Saturday's 1-1 draw at the Amex Stadium but, ahead of Tuesday's clash with Wednesday, Jackett insists he has never considered dropping the man that has been deputising for Carl Ikeme since February.

"No I haven't," Jackett said when asked if he had considered a change between the sticks.

"I think all being equal he will play again.

"He's done very well for us, particularly initially when he came in for Carl because he hadn't played for a long time.

"There will always be mistakes.

"If you look at both goalkeepers on Saturday they'll be disappointed with the goals.

"I think Rajiv's effort was a cross, a mis-hit cross that caught the goalkeeper out at his near post.

"But also then he did make, certainly one in each half, two outstanding saves, as well which does balance it off.

"For Tomasz, yes going back to Brighton he'll be disappointed with the goal definitely.

"But as an overall for us since he's come in, he's been very solid.

"The points record we've got with him has been very good."

And Jackett is confident ex-Manchester United keeper Kuszczak will be able to forget his error.

"I was the one staying to him straight after the game on Saturday that the only thing that matters now is Tuesday night and that's very true," he said.

"It's not something he needs to dwell on.

"He has to just move forward and show the type of consistency and form that he has for us because he's had a high number of good games and made some good saves, excellent saves."
