Sevilla have signed Denmark midfielder Michael Krohn-Dehli on a two-year contract, the club have announced.

Krohn-Dehli becomes Sevilla's first signing for the 2015/16 campaign and joins the Europa League champions as a free agent after his contract with Celta Vigo expired this month.

The 31-year-old moved to Celta in the summer of 2012 from Brondby and has been pivotal in helping the Galician club defend their Primera Division status in the past three campaigns.

Krohn-Dehli made 36 league appearances as Celta finished an impressive eighth in La Liga this season.

A statement from Sevilla read: "Sevilla have signed Michael Krohn-Dehli for the next two seasons, with an optional third."

Sevilla missed out on qualification for the Champions League through La Liga as they finished fifth, but the successful defence of their Europa League title gives them a place in the competition next year.
