-Tottenham have been left with a £1m bill after a trespasser staged a 10-hour protest on a crane at White Hart Lane a court has been told.
Wali Azagh, 37, scaled the crane which had been installed as part of the redevelopment of the ground and threatened to commit suicide.
Tottenham began construction work on their new 61,000 stadium earlier this year, after acquiring the remaining land, which is part of the multi-billion-pound Northumberland Park development.
Highbury Corner magistrates court heard the club now faces an estimated £1m bill because of the disruption on Monday July 11 which was eventually resolved after police intervention.
Azagh, of no fixed address, was remanded in custody until sentencing on August 3, magistrates adjourning the case for an assessment of his mental health.
