Paul Pogba has hailed the display of Henrikh Mkhitaryan who notched his first goal for Manchester United in Ukraine this week.

The midfielder was on target as the Reds booked their spot in the knockout stages of the Europa League, thanks to a 2-0 win over Zorya Luhansk.

"Well, we know him," Pogba told MUTV. "We train with him every day.

"We know how good he is. You just have to be confident and now he's playing more, he has more games on his legs.

"He is just getting going, he is just going that way and that's what we want.

"We need him in the team like we need everyone in the team, but the performance of Mhki tonight was just unbelievable."

Looking ahead to this weekend, the Frenchman says he is desperate for the team to end a succession of drawn matches in the Premier League.

With 14 games played, the Reds are already 13 points adrift of leaders Chelsea, with Tottenham next up on Sunday.

"We know how hard it is to play against Tottenham," Pogba added. "We are playing at home, we didn't win for four games at home and we had four draws.

"We just want to win this game and get to the top of the league. When you are playing in those competitions, when you are playing every three days, you have the team to change, we have the team to be ready.

"We have to be ready for those games so we know we have to be ready for this. When we prepare like the pre-season, it is to play in those games every three days and be fit for those games."
