Former Manchester United and France defender Mikael Silvestre revealed his #One2Eleven on The Fantasy Football Club.

The now-retired centre-back also played for the likes of Inter Milan, Arsenal and Werder Bremen, with nine years at Old Trafford and earning 40 caps for his country.

He joined Max, Rachel and Merse on the Sky Sports show and revealed the best #One2Eleven of players he appeared with during his career...

Mikael Silvestre - One2Eleven

GOALKEEPER: Edwin van der Sar

What stood out for me is his consistency and his professionalism. You want to be able to play from the back and he was really good with his feet. There was safety with Edwin.

You worry less when you trust your goalkeeper and concentrate more on your direct opposition - the striker you are supposed to mark and it's good to have someone who is vocal as well so Edwin was good at guiding.

DEFENDER: Lilian Thuram

He was a true warrior and a very good leader. He wasn't very good technically when he first broke into Monaco's team but then he got better and better and his mentality was superb. He was vocal in the dressing room and he was someone who was bought everybody up to their best.

DEFENDER: Jaap Stam

There was Rio Ferdinand, there was Wes Brown but Jaap was an unbelievable defender. One versus one, it was impossible to get past him.

We were puzzled when he left, we didn't understand. We couldn't ask because it was done and dusted, he was gone just like that.

DEFENDER: Marcel Desailly

If you were a striker, you wouldn't try and go to beat these guys. Marcel was like his nickname - The Rock - because he was very strong one versus one. You have to remember, in Milan, he was playing in midfield so he was quite comfortable on the ball. He also came through the academy at Nantes, so he understood the game very well.

DEFENDER: Javier Zanetti

He was a machine with both feet, he could play on the right as well. He was a true professional and played so many games for Inter. He is still at the club, which is very loyal. He was a good guy to be around, always positive and encouraging all of the younger lads.

MIDFIELD: Roy Keane

Phil Thompson believes Liverpool need a combative midfielder in the style of Roy Keane

Roy was always fair. He would treat everybody the same from the senior players to the younger ones, and he was no different with me. We got on really well but there was no hiding from Roy. I got told off a few times like everyone else, but most of the time, he was spot on.

When you say a born winner, that's what he is. He wanted to win every single game, every exercise in training, be his best and make sure he was on the winning side.

MIDFIELD: Patrick Vieira

I think Patrick and Roy would form a great partnership because they would understand each other. There was a big fight a lot of the time, but in the same team, they would have been perfect.

Live Premier League

He was very laid-back off the pitch but when he was on, he was a true livewire and it's good to see him coaching, even if it is in the MLS.

FORWARD: Roberto Baggio

He was the maestro, very good with both feet and a football genius. You don't play with so many players like this. He was good to me because there was a lot of pressure playing for Inter where we had four managers so it was not an easy time but Baggio took me under his wing. It was good to have him around.

He is very good at chatting, very interesting outside of football, he has a lot on his mind. It's good to share time with those guys.

FORWARD: Zinedine Zidane

He could have been the best players. I have two best players that I have played with so it was difficult to choose one but Zidane, probably because I got to spend more time with him, he became less of a God.

He was the same as Baggio but bigger and stronger and in the modern game where you have to play so many games in a season, he was performing for Juventus and France.

I'm surprised how well he is doing at Real Madrid. I didn't know that it was his goal but he took his time, he could have jumped on a lot of opportunities.

FORWARD: Thierry Henry

There is a reason why he has so many caps for France and the record for goals scored. He has done extremely well. It is different for me because I've seen Thierry grow. We come from the same generation, we've known each other since we were 15 years old and seeing him reach the top like he did was unbelievable because you know how much work it requires to get there.

STRIKER: Ronaldo

The best player. Phenomenal. He was from another planet and unplayable simply because he was so fast, you couldn't get to him. He was lightning quick and he could play with both feet. Even when he was injured, he was able to perform and score goals from anywhere and on any surface.
