Huddersfield Town boss David Wagner has been named the Sky Bet Championship Manager of the Month for February.

Wagner stayed true to his principles despite a dip in form around the turn of the year and gained his reward in February, with his side collecting 16 points from six games and earning deserved home wins over promotion rivals Brighton, Leeds and Reading.

"We enjoyed such good results because of the excellent, consistent level of performance from every player in the squad," said Wagner.

"That happens because of self-belief, trust in each other and hard work every day at the training ground."

Sky Sports' EFL pundit Don Goodman, said: "For much of January it appeared that the race for automatic promotion from the Championship was all but done, but Huddersfield weren't giving up the fight to catch the top two just yet and are now in contention after a series of great wins during February.

The former Celtic and Everton player scored three individual goals - two against Brentford in the 4-2 win at Deepdale - and also contributed four assists.

McGeady said: "It's a great accolade to get, to see your form recognised over the past month. I feel like I've been pretty consistent all season but obviously a few goals and a few assists grab the headlines but the main thing is that the team has been doing well.

"I'm enjoying my football again. Just playing games again really, I had sort of forgotten what I could play like because I hadn't really played that much. It's a good environment to play my football in and I'm loving it."

Millwall's impressive form during the month was recognised as Lions boss Neil Harris picked up the manager's plaudits in Sky Bet League One.

The south Londoners won four and drew three of their seven matches during the month and Goodman praised their success.

"For a former striker, it is somewhat strange that Millwall's sterling form over the last two months has been built on stability at the back," he said.

"The feel-good factor gained from good news off the pitch and the magnificent FA Cup run has been utilised to maintain good form in the league, as Harris has kept Millwall on course for the Play-Offs."

"March must now reflect the foundations laid as we have now set standards far higher than ever before."

Meanwhile, Stevenage striker Matt Godden picked up the player plaudits as he notched up six goals in as many matches.

"Godden scored vital goals for his side in February as Stevenage made a charge for the Play-Off places," noted Goodman.

"His 13 league goals since the turn of the year puts him two ahead of Harry Kane at the top of the charts for 2017 across all four leagues...it doesn't get much more impressive than that!''
