Leicester City are talking to Sevilla about the possible transfer of their captain, Vicente Iborra, according to Sky Sources.

Manager Craig Shakespeare was impressed by the 29-year old midfielder when Leicester came up against Sevilla in the Champions League in March.

Reports in Spain suggest a bid of around £12.5m would be enough to persuade Sevilla to sell, and it's thought Iborra is keen to play in the Premier League.

Iborra's signing would bring a lot of experience and leadership to the Leicester squad ahead of the start of the new Premier League season on August 12.

Sunderland were close to his signature in January and the player's height and stature make him an ideal prospect for prospective Premier League clubs.

Iborra, who scored seven goals last season for Sevilla, is a three-time Europa League winner but has never represented his country at international level.
