Burnley boss Sean Dyche was delighted with another clean sheet for his side in a draw at Brighton as they made it seven points from nine in a week

Sean Dyche was pleased with Burnley's goalless draw at Brighton after it brought up a third clean sheet in eight days for his high-flying side.

Burnley failed to follow up 1-0 victories over Watford and Stoke with a win at the Amex Stadium, which could have seen them up to fourth in the Premier League table.

However, Dyche was happy with the "hard-fought" point, which came after Brighton striker Glenn Murray fired a first-half penalty over the bar.

"It was a hard-fought point on the back of another clean sheet. That's three clean sheets and seven points in a week in the Premier League, which is very difficult to get so we're pleased with that," Dyche told Sky Sports after the game.

"I'm pleased with the performance overall, not as good as it has been, but three games in a week is hard physically.

"To handle the first half like we did - they came at us with a real head of steam trying to get something - and then to come strong in the second half was a good sign for our own side moving forward."

A tale of two halves perfectly sums up Saturday's encounter, with Brighton largely dominating the first half before Burnley came out strongly after the break.

Wood then had a great chance late on, but Ryan produced another smart save when the Burnley striker looked to lift the ball over the goalkeeper.

"We had some golden moments and a marginal decision on an offside. Wood has gone through one v one, but the keeper has done well," Dyche added.

"It's hard to over-question my players because they're giving a lot to the cause, and they're getting the rewards I think. It's a big week and another point on the table."
