Midfielder Greg Docherty may make his Rangers debut in their visit to Ross County in the Scottish Premiership on Sunday.

Docherty, who joined Rangers from Hamilton for £675,000 this week, says he may have to change his style as he adjusts to taking on stubborn opposition defences.

"Rangers are expected to dominate possession so that will be a factor that is good for me as I'll be able to get on the ball a lot," Docherty said ahead of his new side's trip to Global Energy Stadium, live on Sky Sports Football.

"I know from playing against Rangers with Hamilton that the opposition teams do tend to sit in and then when you get an opportunity, you have to try to make things happen.

"So it will be different for me and it might take a bit of adjusting, but I'm playing with a good bunch of guys and I'm sure they will help me get through it.

"It's always difficult up at County. It's a hostile little ground. The fans are really passionate. They are a good side but I think they are in a false position.

"They will definitely give us a good game but we definitely need to come back with the three points. You need to win every game at Rangers and that is the aim.

"If my debut doesn't come on Sunday I'm not going to be too disheartened with that. Today was my first time training with the whole squad - I only trained with some of the guys on Friday.

"I'm ready to bide my time if need be but if I am put in the firing line on Sunday, then I'm ready to go."

Meanwhile, Ross County manager Owen Coyle says his side can turn their season around with a win against Rangers on the weekend.

The Staggies sit bottom of the Scottish Premiership ahead of Sunday's visit of second-place Rangers.

Ross County have lost four of their last six league outings, but Coyle is confident a win against the Gers will signal a change in fortunes for his men.

"It's been a difficult run. We obviously came into the job and got it for a reason because the team hadn't been winning games," said Coyle, who took charge at Global Energy Stadium last November.

"We did very well in October and November but we've not done well as of late. The only way to change that is with playing well and winning games.

"We've no doubt we can turn that around very quickly and obviously that starts with a huge game against Rangers on Sunday."

The last meeting between the clubs went Rangers' way, as they came from behind to seal a late 2-1 win at Ibrox, and Coyle admits his side must show more defensive quality if they are to turn "tight results" into positive ones.

"There's been a lot of games that we've just been on the wrong side of a tight result, and Rangers was the same as that," he said.

"We went 1-0 in front and did very well in the game.

"We've got to still carry that threat to score goals, but again be more defensively sound and not give away soft goals."
