David Villa came off the bench to score and assist as New York City FC remained unbeaten top of the Eastern Conference table with a 2-2 draw at second-place Atlanta United on Sunday.
Villa scored a penalty in the first half and set up Alexander Ring for the equaliser in the 73rd minute of a well-played contest between the two sides.
Atlanta's Greg Garza and Chris McCann scored the goals for the hosts at the Mercedes-Benz Stadium, and Miguel Almiron had a hand in each of them for United, who had their four-game winning streak.
Garza opened the scoring, netting a rebound from Almiron's effort in the 29th minute before NYCFC forward Jo Inge Berget won a penalty after he was fouled by Michael Parkhurst nine minutes later which Villa - who came off the bench in the 35th minute - converted.
Two minutes later, Atlanta had a goal disallowed after a video review showed Josef Martinez was offside and interfered with NYCFC goalkeeper Sean Johnson after Darlington Nagbe's cross from just outside the box.
McCann gave Atlanta a 2-1 lead in the 56th minute, heading home a perfect left-to-right cross from Almiron but Villa was involved again 17 minutes later as he set up Ring for a superb strike to see the visitors take a point.
Elsewhere, Will Bruin also scored and assisted as the Seattle Sounders snapped their three-game losing streak with a 2-2 draw on Sunday afternoon against Sporting Kansas City at Children's Mercy Park.
Cristian Roldan also scored for the Sounders while Ilie Sanchez and Graham Zusi netted for the hosts, who remain top of the Western Conference.
