Argentinian goalkeeper Nicolas Caprio has paid homage to Homer Simpson by incorporating a famous still into his green goalkeeper strip.

The 28-year-old, who plays for Argentine third division side, Ferro Carril Oeste, had the image of Homer backing into a bush outside his house imprinted on his jersey.

The scene is from the 1994 episode 'Homer Loves Flanders', and depicts Homer slowly retreating after Flanders turns down his request to hang out.

The image has become a popular internet 'Meme' and widely used GIF image to display an embarrassed retreat.

Ferro Carril Oeste are 18th in the Prim B Nacional table after 18 games, losing their most recent fixture against Nueva Chicago.

Nicolas Caprio has made five appearances for them this season, according to Transfermarkt.co.uk.
