Javi Gracia felt his Watford side should have had the game won by half-time and a mistake in the second half gifted Fulham a point.

Watford boss Javi Gracia was left disappointed that his team didn't "kill the game" after a dominant first-half display against Fulham..

The Hornets had to settle for a point after a 1-1 draw at Craven Cottage despite creating a number of chances in the opening 45 minutes.

Andre Gray gave Watford the lead after just one minute and 27 seconds - the club's second-fastest goal in Premier League history - with his third league goal of the season.

However, the home side were lucky to go in at the break only one goal down after Christian Kabasele and Gray spurned presentable openings, while it could have been even worse had referee Martin Atkinson sent off Timothy Fosu-Mensah for a studs-up tackle on Troy Deeney just past the half-hour mark.

Gracia was frustrated that his side allowed Fulham back into the game after half-time.

He told Sky Sports: "After we scored, we had chances to kill the game but we didn't do it. We made a mistake and conceded a goal. After that we are a little bit disappointed."

Watford became the first Premier League team in over a decade to name an unchanged side for the first six games of a season as Gracia has found a formula that has worked.

Slavisa Jokanovic says Fulham were not good enough in the first half against Watford but praised their attitude and improvement in the second period.

Gracia explained why he's keen on keeping the same side.

He said: "When I'm preparing the next game I always try to look for the way and choose the players that will be better for the game. I don't think it's the same or not the same.

"I like to start the week, I like to see all of the training sessions and after that I try to decide and be fair with the work. I know I'm not fair with the work of all of players because all of them deserve to play but if I choose the same eleven it's because it's the best option in that moment."
