Man arrested in Rome after Liverpool fan suffered 'catastrophic' head injury

Italian police have arrested a man in Rome over the assault of a Liverpool supporter who was left in a critical condition.
Sean Cox, 53, was attacked outside Anfield stadium ahead of a Champions League match between Liverpool and Roma on April 24.
Merseyside Police have worked alongside Italian officers to arrest a 30-year-old man on a European Arrest Warrant on suspicion of assault.
The suspect, who has not been named, appeared in court in Rome on Saturday and has been remanded in custody ahead of an extradition hearing.
Two other men have already been charged in relation to the incident.
Filippo Lombardi, 21, was charged with violent disorder and grievous bodily harm and remanded in custody to appear at Preston Crown Court on Wednesday, October 10 ahead of a trial due to begin on Thursday.
Daniele Sciusco, 29, admitted violent disorder and was jailed for two-and-a-half years on August 24, 2018.
Mr Cox, a father of three, suffered a "catastrophic" head injury before the Champions League semi-final in April.
He was out of a coma but still in a serious condition in August 2018.
Sciusco, from Rome, was part of a group of "ultras" who had flown from Italy for the match.
Video footage showed the group of 25 fans, all dressed in dark clothing, going onto Walton Breck Road in Liverpool just before kick-off.
Mr Cox, from Dunboyne, Co Meath, was seen lying in the road after being attacked as fighting continued around him.
Liverpool won the Champions League semi-final match against Roma 5-2.
