Swedish side Ostersunds are set to expand their English contingent by appointing former Tottenham and Bournemouth recruitment chief David Webb as their new technical director, Sky Sports News understands.

Webb, who was head of recruitment at the Cherries and then Spurs' head of elite potential ID, is poised to join the staff of English head coach Ian Burchnall, who replaced Graham Potter earlier this year.

Potter is now the Swansea boss after he rose through the Swedish leagues with Ostersunds over his eight-year spell in charge, and Burchnall has taken the small-town club to fifth in the Allsvenskan this season.

Webb, meanwhile, is credited with having discovering Wilfried Zaha playing for a youth side in Croydon and bringing him into the Crystal Palace academy during his time there as a coach.

In charge of recruitment at the Cherries, he built their Premier League promotion-winning team in 2015, and signed the likes of Callum Wilson, Adam Smith and Dan Gosling.

Webb was then part of Paul Mitchell's recruitment department at White Hart Lane before leaving with him in 2017, and he has since been of interest to Rangers, Watford and Juventus.
