Arsenal striker Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang has been named the Premier League player of the month for October.

The Gabon international beat competition from Anthony Martial, Ross Barkley, Fernandinho, Matthew Ryan and Callum Wilson.

Aubameyang's record in October was outstanding, scoring five goals in three appearances despite the 29-year-old only starting one of those games.

Aubameyang now has nine goals in 14 games for Arsenal in all competitions this season, despite often being deployed on the wing.

His record for the Gunners now stands at 19 goals from 28 games since joining from Borussia Dortmund in January.

Aubameyang was beaten by team-mate Aaron Ramsey for the Premier League Goal of the Month.
