Gateshead sack assistant manager Ian Watson by email

Gateshead assistant manager Ian Watson was sacked on Monday via an email from club owner Ranjan Varghese. 

Watson's dismissal follows the sacking of the club's general manager Alisha Henry via text message on Saturday night.

Watson and Henry's departures leave the National League side with only four employees remaining on their books.

All of Gateshead's players are now out of contract, with the exception of Scott Barrow, whose deal runs until the end of June.

Midfielder JJ O'Donnell is currently still employed as the club's kit manager, although his playing contract has expired.
