General Questions

Do I need to be a Sky Sports customer to watch videos in the app?

Videos are accessible to all users. You don't need a Sky Sports subscription. Match action video clips require Sky iD.

What is Sky iD?

Sky iD is a single username and password to access all of Sky's online services. Sky iD is freely available. You just need to register by providing an email address. You can access Sky iD from the app More menu.

Can I use the app when I'm not connected to the internet?

No. You must be connected to the internet to use this app and get live scores.

How often does the app update?

The app is updated as close to live as possible with live football scores, stats and other information.

Will the app work outside of the UK and Ireland?

You can access most of the app outside of the UK and Ireland. Some video content will not be viewable outside of the UK and Ireland. This includes English Premier League clips and English Football League action videos.

How much data does the app use?

Depending on usage, the app can consume a large amount of data. If you are concerned about your data costs contact your network operator to ensure you have a mobile data bundle that meets your browsing requirements.

Why am I being asked to consent to storage and access of cookies, unique identifiers, personal data and information on my browsing behaviours?

How can I amend my privacy options?

You can amend your privacy options at any time from the More menu.

Troubleshooting

I'm not seeing live scores updating

Initially, please check your internet connection. The scores will only update on a stable internet connection.

Try refreshing the screen by dragging the screen downwards and releasing. A loading icon will indicate the content on the screen is being updated.

If neither of the above options resolve the issue, try deleting the app, reinstalling it from the app or play store.

I'm not getting any notifications

You can receive push notifications for your favourite team, followed teams and any games for which you tap the star icon next to the fixture.

To turn on notifications go to the more menu > notification preferences. On iOS you will be prompted to allow notifications by switching them on within your phone settings before you will be able to alter them within the app. Tap the button on the alert to be taken directly to the relevant phone setting.

I want to change my notification settings

You can receive push notifications for your favourite team, followed teams and any games for which you tap the star icon next to the fixture.

You can turn on and personalise your notifications during onboarding when you first install the app.

You can change your notification settings at any time, including turning individual notifications on or off by going to the more menu > notification preferences. On iOS you will be prompted to allow notifications by switching them on within your phone settings before you will be able to alter them within the app. Tap the button on the alert to be taken directly to the relevant phone setting.

The schedules/line-ups/results look wrong

The Sky Sports Scores app updates information every 30 seconds. If information in the app appears to be incorrect please check you have a stable internet connection, as the app requires this to update data.

I can't get videos to play

Please check you have a stable internet connection as the app requires a live connection. Some videos require you to create a free SkyiD login in order to watch them. These videos will send you to an account creation/log in screen when tapped.

Some videos are only available in the UK, due to content distribution rights. If you are outside of the UK, the videos will not play.

If none of the above options resolve the issue, try deleting the app, reinstalling it from the app or play store.

I want to follow a match

You can follow a match by selecting the star symbol next to a Match within the Scores section of the app. You will receive notifications for starred games. Your notifications are managed within the notifications section of the More menu.

I want to follow a new team

You can follow a new team from the app More menu. Select My Followed Teams and search for teams you want to follow by tapping the team crest or using the search bar. You can change your followed team at any time. Content will be personalised based on your selection.

I want to change my favourite team

You can change your favourite team from the app More menu. Select My Favourite Team and search for your favourite by tapping the team crest or using the search bar. You can change your favourite team at any time. The fixtures for your favourite teams will be pinned to the My Scores section.

I want to follow a new competition

You can change the competitions you follow from the app More menu. Select My Followed Competitions and search for your favourites by tapping the competition crest or using the search bar. You can select and unselect new competitions at any time. Some competitions may not become available to select until closer to their start date. Content will be personalised based on your selection.

I do/don't want to see Sky Bet odds

You can toggle Sky Bet odds on or off from the app More menu.

Why can't I access my Sky iD account?

Why is the app slow?

This could be a result of a poor internet connection. Please ensure you are connected to WiFi or a strong 3G/4G connection for the optimum experience.
